Feature will be eliminated on February 11th.
Today, Google announced that the ability to share AdWords ads across campaigns and ad groups in the Shared Library is going away on February 11, 2015.
Apparently having ads shared through the Shared Library felt redundant in light of the roll out of the Business data section and ad customizers, which allow advertisers to dynamically customize ads across campaigns and ad groups, and the overhaul AdWords Editor received in its latest version. Though, these still don’t exactly fill that same role. Maybe there just weren’t that many people using the feature.
If you’re using shared ads now, you won’t have to do anything. The ads will be copied down to the ad groups they were shared with and performance history will be carried with them.
You should, however, get the latest updates in Editor or the AdWords API after February 11th to be sure you’re working with the latest ad sets.
