Despite Grammarly’s integration with Microsoft Word, the program didn’t work with Google Docs. However, thanks to the latest news from Google, Grammarly might not be the only grammar fixing AI tool in town for Google users now.

Coming Soon: Machine Translation AI Tools.

The machine translation algorithm recognizes errors in real-time. It even makes suggestions for corrections as you type. Google claims the tool can spot incorrect article usage as well as more complicated grammatical and syntax issues. A highly effective approach to grammar correction that is machine translation-based.

Google isn’t the only company to leverage AI for things like real-time grammar fixing.

Deep Grammar : It offers a similar tool based on natural language processing. This works similarly to the Inbenta Chatbot, but for the sake of grammar checking. It appears that Deep Grammar is still in development, but its “coming soon.”

PaperRater :It offers plagiarism checking, grammar checks, and writing suggestions.

CorrectEnglish : Its functions are similarly to the Grammarly browser plugin. You can get suggestions in real time, while also using proofreading tools.

Word Counter : It offers expanded tools like word counting, reading level, speaking time, keyword density, and more details about any given piece of content.

We don’t know if the new Google Docs grammar AI will be on the same level as these tools and Grammarly. We will update you with more latest findings in our upcoming article. So, according to your point of view which AI-based grammar and writing tool do you prefer the most to use? Do answer….!!!

Google cautiously work on its algorithms and updates to improve the results appeared on SERP (Search Engine Ranking Pages) and the new update by Google ‘Mobile- First Index’ isn’t actually ‘new’.

Most of us might not have heard about it but it was announced in 2016 by Doantam Phan, Product Manager- Google. Although it was clearly stated that it won’t affect much of the ranking still there will be a massive chaos in the indexing process. Before learning more about Mobile-First Indexing, let’s understand what indexing means.

What is mean by Indexing?

The standard definition of indexing is the process of search engine where the robots come and crawl the website and take snaps, which is stored and considering all the ranking factors, the website is placed on SERP. We can view the saved copy and the last indexed time by visiting the cached version is displayed below.

How Google Indexing Is Done Now:

At present, Google has an indexing procedure in which the desktop site is primarily indexed for providing the results. Even for mobile What happens in the back ends is the mobile bots land on your website and check the ‘Mobile Friendliness’ of a site on the desktop itself.

What is Mobile-First Indexing?

As mentioned, Google doesn't have a separate indexing process for mobile and the recent figures say that more than 70% of the searches are made from the mobile. So Google is planning to make a separate process of indexing for mobile phones known as Mobile-First Indexing to provide even better results for the mobile users.

Even for the site who have Accelerated Mobile Pages, there’s some gap of providing the exact content because of the existing indexing procedure.

Checklist to face Google’s Mobile-First Index:

Make sure that your mobile version of the website has the same content as Desktop version. Even if you have Accelerated Mobile Pages make sure all the content exist on the website.

If all of your web pages are not displayed on the mobile version, then sorry, your site will be greatly affected by this update. Try website compressor rather than excluding pages.

Proper navigation of menus and sub-menus of the website are the most important factor in the indexing procedure of website under the mobile first-index update.

This is actually going to be in the main comprised of mobile pages, meaning that snippets, structured data, and other content will appear in Google search results.

The visual appeal even of the mobile-friendly websites are somewhere improper, like the alignment issue of the text, image size or clarity, popups etc. even such minor issues can land your website’s ranking somewhere you don’t want.

This is understandable for all, how this is showing the change in indexing, and even if you have been working on mobile optimization and planning for this kind of change over the past months or years, there are still things your business needs to do to be ready.

Prepared your business and get started with this new announcement from Google-

Mobile Sensibility - If your site already has a responsive design, by Google’s standards, you will likely not have to do much to be properly indexed for mobile.

Structured Data Testing- Trial structured data tests for both URLs and compare the output. Adjust any errors that might be present, but avoid adding any instruction that isn’t necessary to mobile sites.

Google bots- Trial the txt testing tool to make sure that the mobile version of your site is accessible to Googlebot this will be key for indexing.

Canonical Links- If your site does have canonical links, there is no need to make changes.

Webmaster Forums- If you have specific questions on your mobile site, you can contact Google Webmasters

Verify in Search Console- If you have only verified the desktop version of your site, you will need to verify your mobile version as well.

Building a Mobile Site - Google will continue to index desktop sites, so it is better to have a quality and complete mobile site.

It is going to take some time for Google to make this change in prioritizing mobile indexing, so in the meantime, do all that you can to optimize your site and get prepared for it.

Going through the optimization list will be comprehensive enough to make sure your site is indexed at this point. Google is very likely to put out more information soon since this is so new. In the next blog, we will explore more in-depth so that you can make a preparation checklist as we enter the New Year.

So Stay Tuned!

Back-links are a huge part of the search engine algorithm. When initiating a linking campaign, it is vital that external sites link using the appropriate keywords and terms in the anchor text.

Almost always, linking candidates will use the company name as anchor text. This does not provide any type of description of the target company’s products or services. Sure, it may be great for branding purposes, but it isn’t usually needed. In most cases, companies already rank very high (if not first) for searches that incorporate their brand.

Here is an example using fictional company “Acme Plumbing Supplies”:

Most people will link simply using the terms “Acme”. This is alright, but it does not describe the company’s products or services, nor provide any context. By adding the word “plumbing” or term “plumbing supplies” (i.e. “Acme Plumbing” or “Acme Plumbing Supplies”), you may be able to drive additional traffic that may not have otherwise attained the corporate site.

The individual significance of each has been contested, but it is widely regarded that absolute links provide better SEO value on the whole than relative links.

Many believe that absolute links have less potential for getting messed up when search engines index your page. It shouldn’t really make a difference, but many conclude that this is reason enough.

Furthermore, content scrapers and RSS services may ‘repurpose’ your content legitimately (or not). In either case, shouldn’t a proper back-link be attributed to your site? This situation favours absolute links. Although this is a minor argument, it’s still worth considering.

SEO is not an exact science. This becomes apparent when trying to incorporate both SEO and branding into a strategy. This process is finicky to say the least. On the one side, SEO deals with the placement of keywords and phrases. On the other side, branding deals with company loyalty and culture. Incorporating both sides dilutes the prominence of both. But eliminating one or the other may not meet all strategic and marketing goals.

Once again, it should be emphasized that SEO is a series of guidelines rather than an exact science. Having said that, the following recommendation can be used to satisfy both sides of the equation. In general, keywords and phrases (i.e. SEO) should remain the focus of any early-stage company, while the incorporation of company branding should appear later in the evolution. This is simply a general statement and should not be taken word for word.

The reasoning is pretty straightforward. At first, no-one knows the name of your company, but perhaps they are searching for your products or services. In other words, you want to target keywords and phrases that focus around your offering rather than your company. As you build loyalty and credibility, branding becomes more important. It’s at this point that you may want to incorporate corporate messaging to strengthen the relationship with customers and instill trust in your brand.

One final thought about branding: if a searcher types in the name of your company, they are likely to find your website anyways. This is due mostly to anchor text and back-links. Therefore, optimizing for the company name is rather insignificant in most cases.

When assessing page structure and layout, there is a subtle, yet strategic way to use images in an SEO-friendly manner (beyond ALT tags) that improves your search rank while allowing you to integrate the necessary marketing message(s). Confused? Let’s look at an example:

Suppose you operate a travel site and you want to optimize a given page for the term “Las Vegas hotel”. Suppose that you also want to include an enticing marketing message such as “Book now and save 20%!”. The aforementioned tagline lacks descriptive text, but possesses persuasive characteristics. That being said, you may want to place the tagline in an image and the key phrase (i.e. Las Vegas hotel) in a header tag. This places emphasis on the desired term, yet still provides a marketing opportunity without compromising keyword consistency.

In other words, images are a great place to insert marketing messages that lack the necessary keywords and phrases. Leveraging this technique will ensure that descriptive text is indexed, while less marketing jargon is overlooked. The combination of keyword-rich content and enticing messaging will satisfy both sides of the strategic equation.

This is going to have to change. Google now discounts all reciprocal links. The algorithm has been altered to identify the exchange of links by two parties for the purpose of increasing their number of inbound links.

The concept of reciprocal linking defies Google’s original intention with the algorithm. Quality content should attract links. The exchange of links is nothing more than a mutual agreement to unjustifiably promote others’ content with the end goal of promoting your own. Google doesn’t particularly like this (see Link Schemes).

Some even claim that Google is now able to identify three-way linking schemes (i.e. website A links to website B, who links to website C, who links back to A). Whether this is true or not is hard to say. One thing is for certain though: inbound linking strategies should NOT be centered around reciprocal linking. This manufactured form of link creation is not well-received and is ultimately a waste of time. Instead, focus on creating unique, high-quality content in a given niche. The links will ensue.
