<li><strong><b>Time decay model - </b></strong>The touchpoints closest in time to the sale or conversion get most of the credit. The keywords consumers interacted with within a few hours of conversion would get the largest weighting. This model is the most similar to last-click and would be considered the most “conservative” change to an existing account. This is an excellent option if you want the same type of attribution that you’re getting currently with a last-click attribution account.</li>
<li><strong><b>First-click model- </b></strong>An effort of 100% of the credit is given to the first touch point. This is generally used for when companies are looking for growth and focuses on new user/customer acquisition. <p>Bing Ads has released a big update for Universal Event Tracking, the relatively new conversion and goal tracking for Bing Ads that will also soon power retargeting on search.</p>
<p>If you haven’t implemented Universal Event Tracking (UET) or were just overwhelmed by the setup process, you’re in luck. The implementation is now much more intuitive because tag creation (generating the tracking pixel to place on your site) and goal creation (telling Bing Ads what you want to track) have been separated. The tasks are clearly delineated in a common-sense fashion.</p>
<p>The setup steps are now found under a new Conversion Tracking section rather than Shared Library.</p>

<h2>Default Revenue Settings, Unique Conversion Support</h2>
<p>Other updates include the ability to set a default revenue value for conversions that have no assigned value (a dealer locator click, appointment request and more) and support for unique conversions. As with AdWords, when you set a goal to count unique conversions, Bing Ads will count only one conversion that happens after a click. A common use case would be sites that have multiple download options: With the unique conversion setting, one person who downloads four white papers will be counted as one conversion action, not four.</p>
<h2>Cross-Account Tracking — Possible Updates Needed</h2>
<p>A new Scope option allows advertisers to apply a conversion goal across multiple accounts that send traffic to the same site.</p>
<p>The thing to know is that this is now the default on all of your existing conversion goals and will have the scope of “Across all accounts.” If if you have multiple accounts for the same site and don’t want the conversion goal to apply across accounts, you’ll have to create new goals, because you can’t go back and edit the scope property.</p>
<h2>Other Updates And Campaign Analytics Reminder</h2>
<p>There are several other, less significant updates you should be aware of. Check out the full blog post.</p>
<p>If you’re still using the old Campaign Analytics for conversion tracking instead of UET, start making a plan to make the switch soon. Support for Campaign Analytics will be shut off in the coming months.</p>

<p>As Yahoo has turned Gemini into a more expansive search marketing platform, it has also expanded the ways the platform is being sold. The company is expanding and adding resellers to its Preferred Partner Program. Its latest partner is small business marketing platform ReachLocal.</p>
<p>Existing Preferred Partners include Marin, Acquisio and Kenshoo, among others.</p>
<p>For years, Google has operated an extensive reseller program for AdWords (called Preferred SMB Partners), which is intended to reach more deeply into the SMB market. The function of the Google program is to bring AdWords to SMBs that otherwise might not do self-service or would be likely to stumble or fail at campaign self-management.</p>
<p>Google has said that when many SMBs self-serve it sees higher churn than if partners or agencies manage those AdWords accounts on behalf of local business owners. Yahoo has been following Google’s lead in starting to build out a similar network of partners to sell and support Gemini for local businesses.</p>
<p>Yahoo’s search marketing inventory is separating from Bing, though it’s not entirely separate. Companies like ReachLocal will now be representing Gemini as mostly distinct inventory and traffic on the PC and mobile to thousands of small business customers.</p>
<p>ReachLocal indicated in an email interview that it isn’t yet selling native advertising on Yahoo as part of the arrangement but that it will be adding both PC and mobile traffic from Yahoo search to its existing paid-search advertising network.</p>
<p>While the small business market has long been an important and attractive (though challenging) target of major internet companies, competition has intensified, with companies like Google and Facebook seeking to be the go-to digital marketing platform for these businesses. Traditional media companies that used to serve these advertisers with their own products exclusively have effectively become agencies selling third-party traffic and inventory to SMBs.</p>

<p>Google has launched dynamic structured snippets for AdWords. The automated extensions display industry-specific, structured information about products and services on advertisers’ sites.</p>

<p>At launch, they can show for retail, hotel, and flight searches. Additional verticals are planned to follow later this year.</p>

<p>They can display with other extensions, though if Google finds that other extensions perform better than structured snippets, they’ll be more likely to appear with your ad instead.</p>
<p>Some dynamic structured snippets performance data will be available from the automated extensions report from the Ad extensions tab.</p>
<p>Advertisers can fill out a form to opt out of dynamic structured snippets, but Google emphasizes that automated extensions are a factor in Ad Rank.</p>
